In the clean rooms of food factories, there are processes in which a variety of heavy loads are handled, such as transshipping loads onto clean room pallets in an airlock (air pressure control room) or loading materials into processing machines in a clean room. In these environments, there is a need for transport solutions that reduce the burden on workers and improve work efficiency while maintaining high hygiene standards.

With the addition of the UK-based company Palamatic to the Schmalz Group in 2022, the "PalVac Sprint" hygienic vacuum tube lifter for use in cleanrooms and the Palvac stainless steel jib crane are new additions to the product lineup. The new product lineup includes the "PalVac Sprint," a hygienic vacuum tube lifter that can be used in clean rooms, and the PalVac stainless steel jib crane. And now they will be available in Japan from 2025.

The PalVac Sprint and PalVac Stainless Steel jib cranes feature a hygienic design and high-quality materials that are easy to clean and dirt-resistant. The combination of the two allows for safe and efficient transfer operations in clean rooms.

The PalVac Sprint is a device that can quickly and effortlessly pick up and lower workpieces with the force of a vacuum, making it ideal for transporting heavy loads such as bags, drums, shrink-wrapped products, etc. in clean rooms. A single lever on the handle allows easy operation of suction/release and lifting/lowering of workpieces. A vacuum blower is used to generate a vacuum for loads up to 100 kg.

The lifting unit, operating handle and attachments that make up the vacuum tube lifter can be removed without the use of tools thanks to their Herrul-clamp type connection, allowing for easy cleaning. Metal parts made of stainless steel (SUS304) are resistant to many cleaning agents. In addition, the high-quality surface finish and gapless welded joints prevent adhesion and inhibit cleaning agent residue. White tube covers prevent damage to the lifting unit and can be wiped clean.

The lifting unit has a built-in HEPA filter to prevent foreign matter from entering the lifting tube. A differential pressure gauge is equipped to indicate the filter clogging status, making it easy to detect when maintenance is required.

PalVac Sprint offers a variety of vacuum suction pads and mechanical attachments to suit the shape and nature of the cargo, allowing the selection of the most suitable attachment. The vacuum pad is made of FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) compliant silicone rubber and can be used for processes that come in direct contact with food products.

PalVac stainless steel jib cranes can smoothly move loads lifted by vacuum balancers horizontally. Rust-resistant stainless steel is used for the material, and the structure is optimized for hygiene. The sloped shape of the jib section prevents dirt from accumulating, making it easy to clean. In addition, its high quality and low wear make it highly durable.

Pillar height and jib length can be individually specified according to the work and installation environment. The jib section can be selected from either a standard jib or an articulated jib, and can swivel up to 220° with bearings. The crane column can be mounted on the floor or ceiling, depending on the operating environment.
