"Germany's Best Employer": Schmalz convinces for the sixth time
This is the sixth time that Schmalz has received the prestigious employer award from the Great Place to Work initiative.
"Hardly anything can please an employer more than being told: Your company offers its employees a working environment that is inviting, modern and progressive at the same time," explains Dr. Kurt Schmalz, managing partner of J. Schmalz GmbH. "It is all the more gratifying to experience that this award is not just a snapshot: since 2004, we have been able to regularly prove in the 'Deutschlands Beste Arbeitgeber' competition that our employees are of the highest importance to us. This corporate culture rewards us not only with awards, but above all with highly motivated employees who are proud of their work at the company."
This year's award proves more than ever that Schmalz is also well positioned in a market characterized by a shortage of skilled workers: "For the employees of tomorrow - for qualified specialists in production as well as for development engineers or computer scientists - we have created working environments in recent years that are forward-looking. Our employees work with state-of-the-art technology in progressive buildings such as the value stream factory here in Glatten," says Andreas Beutel, Managing Director of J. Schmalz GmbH. "Added to this is our commitment to the next generation: this is demonstrated by our high training rate of around 13 percent. Last but not least, we have put together a bonus program for our employees with LIFE+, from which they benefit equally in their working life and in their free time: for example, with attractive bonus models, profit sharing or a diverse range of courses on the company premises."
"Deutschlands Beste Arbeitgeber" is considered one of the most important employer awards in this country. For the competition, the Great Place to Work initiative conducted a detailed and anonymous survey of all Schmalz employees. The survey covered topics such as work-life balance, identification with the company and professional development opportunities. In addition, there was a comprehensive cultural audit in which auditors examined the personnel and management work at Schmalz. The digital award ceremony and the announcement of the final rank in the Germany-wide employer comparison will take place on May 5, 2021.
