Vacuum Tube Lifter JumboErgo for the Ergonomic Picking of Cardboard Boxes

The construction of a new production facility meant that the logistics also had to be reorganized. At three picking stations, cardboard boxes weighing up to 40 kg have to be transported from a roller conveyor onto pallets. In order to make this process efficient and ergonomic, vacuum tube lifters from Schmalz were purchased.

The vacuum tube lifters JumboErgo are designed to handle workpieces weighing up to 65 kilograms. The raising and lowering of the tube lifter is controlled using a twist grip, similar to a motorcycle gas grip. The ergonomic operator handle allows the boxes to be precisely placed on a pallet. The vacuum tube lifters are each equipped with two suction plates made from the material NBR. The suction plates ensure a secure hold throughout the entire handling process. Using a clamping lever, the suction plates can be adjusted along a 400 millimeter beam to fit the size of the workpiece. The vacuum is generated externally by an SBL blower. The attached silencer box prevents the blower from emitting excess noise. When not in use, a retaining net allows the vacuum tube lifter to be stored quickly, easily and with little space required. The vacuum tube lifters are moved using Schmalz slewing cranes. The crane jib has a swivel angle of 270°, is made of aluminum and allows for excellent freedom of movement with very little effort.
